My name is Adarsh Badri. I’m a doctoral candidate in Politics and International Studies at the University of Queensland, Australia.
Earlier, I completed my PhD coursework at Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. I also hold a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Delhi, India.
I examine the role of emotions in making a postcolonial nation-state.
My other research interests include identity, postcolonialism, IR theory, and foreign policy, with a focus on South Asia.
My peer-reviewed articles have appeared in International Affairs, New Media & Society, Australian Journal of International Affairs, and Strategic Analysis. Occasionally, I also write commentaries for outlets such as the World Politics Review, Lowy Institute’s Interpreter, Australian Outlook, and the Economic & Political Weekly.
In addition to writing a PhD, I maintain a personal blog that has attracted tens of thousands of readers over the years and continues to draw over 10,000 visitors monthly. Quite irregularly, I publish a newsletter titled Fuzzy Notes on Substack, where I make sense of life during my PhD.
