ABOUT ME

adarsh badri

My name is Adarsh Badri. I’m a doctoral candidate in Politics and International Studies at the University of Queensland, Australia.

Earlier, I had completed my PhD coursework requirement at the Centre for International Politics, Organisation and Disarmament (CIPOD) at Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. I hold a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Delhi, India.

My doctoral research looks at the role of emotions and affect in making a postcolonial nation-state. My other research interests include identity, postcolonialism, IR theory, and foreign policy, with a focus on South Asia.

My peer-reviewed journal articles have appeared in International Affairs, New Media & Society, Australian Journal of International Affairs, and Strategic Analysis.

I have also published commentary and other essays in the World Politics Review, Lowy Institute’s Interpreter, Australian Outlook, and the Economic & Political Weekly, among others.

Besides writing for my PhD, I do quite a bit of blogging, which attracts over 10,000 visitors globally, and I maintain a Substack newsletter: fuzzy notes, where, each month, I discuss what I read and write on my blog as well as in my PhD.
